$ Tar jvxf icecat-3.0.9-g1-i386.tar.bz2
# Mv icecat-3.0.9-g1-i386 / opt
# Cd / opt
# Cd icecat-3.0.9-g1-i386
#. / Icecat
to have the Flash plugin (free):
# Apt-get install gnash mozilla-plugin-gnash
# Ln-s / usr / lib / gnash / libgnashplugin.so / opt/icecat-3.0.9-g1-i386/plugins
# Exit
To Start:
$ / & Opt/icecat-3.0.9-g1-i386/icecat
at this point that remains is to create an icon on the panel startup:
- Right click on panel
- Add to Panel
- Create new pitcher
- Name = GNU IceCat
- Command = / opt/icecat-3.0.9-g1-i386/icecat &
- Comment = IceCat Gnu browser
As for the icon will need a SVG, which you download from here. And then enter:
icecat.svg mv / usr / share / icons / hicolor / scalable / apps
On my Debian Squezee Gnash is at version 0.8.4 to 0.8.5 update to install some dependencies needed:
$ Wget ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnash/0.8.5/gnash-0.8.5.tar.bz2
