Stardict translator for Linux
Written by edmond in Applications, Gnu-Linux, UtilitiesStarDict is a Cross-Platform excellent translator written in Gtk2, which frankly I did not know, I came across to us
case. Very useful for those who want to quickly translate the words just by hovering over them. If you want we can
also to speak.
Installation is simple enough for a:
# Apt-get install stardict stardict-common stardict-gtk stardict-plugin stardict-plugin eSpeak stardict-plugin-festival stardict-spell-plugin stardict-tools
At this point there are dictionaries available on the website of the project or those stardict-dict-babylon. Taking
consider the latter, just go under to find bidirectional dictionaries. At this point, once unpacked
inside the folder are 4 files, that will be copied to / usr / share / stardict / Dec. For a good pronunciation of words
in English we can install the package WyabdcRealPeopleTTS, that after downloading we copy to / usr / share:
WyabdcRealPeopleTTS.tar.bz2 cp / usr / share
cd / usr / share
tar-jxvf WyabdcRealPeopleTTS.tar.bz2
Configuration is very simple and intuitive, so we are ready to prove it.
Update
Another way is to use a great script written by the team Nude downloadable from here, which does everything automatically ![]()

Hello!
We have produced a script that installs stardict very simple and automatic .. can find it here http://www.nude-project.com/archives/category/utility. Nude pretty much collects many scripts that make life easier for a novice user with the use of Linux as it can sometimes confusing to those coming from Windows, with all these commands. I would like to hear your opinion
