Failed to initialize HAL
Written by edmond in Applications, Gnu-Linux, Tips & Tricks, Utilities T he latest updates on my Debian Lenny, have hurt him as starting the computer appeared to me the window that reads "Failed to initialize HAL. In fact I had problems with the installation of the devices and so the problem was I wanted in dbus and hal immediately started putting the symlink to the default runlevel:
# Update-rc.d-f dbus remove
# Update-rc.d-f hal remove
# Update-rc.d dbus defaults
# Update-rc.d hal defaults
did not work, it appeared after restarting the usual window. The solution was much simpler and that is to re-install HAL.
